The March 3rd, 2015 edition of Los Angeles Angels news including Street wants to restart extension talks, Scioscia lays out lineup preference and much more…

The Story: Huston Street is looking to resume contract extension talks.
The Monkey Says: He wants to get this wrapped up during training camp and is working out a time to negotiate with the Angels front office. I still don’t like this idea, but it sounds like something is going to happen regardless.

The Story: Mike Scioscia is currently planning on batting Mike Trout second, Albert Pujols third and Matt Joyce fourth.
The Monkey Says: Joyce, for now would only bat cleanup against righties. Joyce will get a look against lefties this spring, but Scioscia doesn’t come off as a terribly optimistic that Joyce would be able to prove anything.

The Story: Ellis Valentine has offered up his counsel to Josh Hamilton.
The Monkey Says: Because we can’t get through a batch of headlines without a Josh Hamilton story.

The Story: Andrew Heaney is a potential breakout star pitcher in 2015.
The Monkey Says: That sure would be nice. It probably still won’t get all the folks still pining over Howie Kendrick to stop whinging, but maybe they will sulk slightly more quietly.

The Story: Jonah Keri has the Angels #4 in his initial power rankings.
The Monkey Says: But behind the Mariners still because for some reason folks really want to see the Mariners win.

The Story: Evaluating the Angels prospects.
The Monkey Says: I thought Fangraphs did their prospect lists already, but I guess I am wrong. There are no real surprises on this list but there is a lot of good info.

The Story: The top five Angels prospects by projected WAR.
The Monkey Says: It is more than five because of ties, but none of the projections are particularly exciting, even for the guys on the list who actually figure to spend time in the majors this year.
