The July 14th, 2015 edition of Los Angeles Angels news including Trout batting leadoff for All-Star Game, Pujols exits in 2nd round of Home Run Derby and much more…

The Story: Mike Trout will bat leadoff and Albert Pujols third in the AL All-Star lineup.
The Monkey Says: This is a very Yosty lineup. Albert is having a good season, but the only reason he’s batting third is because he’s the elder statesman of the group. The bigger news is that Mike Trout is playing center over Adam Jones, despite Jones being a Gold Glove winner.

The Story: Albert Pujols exited in the second round of the Home Run Derby.
The Monkey Says: He barely lost to Joc Pederson, but it was a legitimately strong contest all around, at least by recent Home Run Derby standards. Every single round was competitive and no hitter embarrassed themselves. You can’t ask for much more than that, except for maybe to not have Chris Berman involved. BACK BACK BACK BACK BACK>

The Story: Mike Trout believes he is seeing more fastballs due to Albert Pujols’ resurgence, but the stats disagree.
The Monkey Says: OK, so Mike clearly isn’t digging through the Pitch f/x data, but it seems to be working for him so just let him think whatever he wants to think.

The Story: Garrett Richards just missed out on the Fangraphs top 50 trade value list.
The Monkey Says: I guess that’s fair due to his injury, but he’s still going to be pretty cheap for awhile. I’m sure he would’ve been high on the list if he was better replicating his success from last season.

The Story: Checking the midseason stock report of every MLB team.
The Monkey Says: Stock report not actually included, for some reason. This is just a souped up version of power rankings, though they are very good power rankings.

The Story: The resurgence of Andrew Heaney.
The Monkey Says: Can a rookie have a resurgence?

The Story: The ten most interesting stories of the first half
The Monkey Says: The Angels made the list but for all the wrong reasons.
