The February 3rd, 2015 edition of Los Angeles Angels news including Trout and the high strike, ranking the relievers and much more…
The Story: Mike Trout needs to adjust to pitches up in the zone.
The Monkey Says: I’ll be honest, there is nothing new in this piece. We’ve all read a lot about Mike Trout and high fastballs, but it is a really slow news day and I needed an excuse to put Trout’s name in the lede of the post.
The Story: Ranking the best relief pitchers.
The Monkey Says: Huston Street is #12 and Joe Smith is #28. Somehow Kevin Jepsen is #36. I don’t want to live in a world where Jepesen is a top 40 reliever.
The Story: The player with the most current trade value for each team.
The Monkey Says: Somehow they landed on Matt Shoemaker. That’s Bleacher Report for ya. I don’t care how much money Trout makes, he leads the free world in trade value. Suggesting otherwise suggests that a team wouldn’t trade Shoemaker for Trout straight up. Now, does that make an iota of sense to you? I didn’t think so.
The Story: Spring training reporting days for every team.
The Monkey Says: The Angels report on the 19th for pitchers and catchers and then the 25th for everyone else. For some reason the Twins don’t report until the 22nd, I guess because they know they are going to stink, so why even bother.
