The July 30th, 2015 edition of Los Angeles Angels news including Trout remains out, Stoneman still exploring trade options and much more…

The Story: Mike Trout sat out last night’s game due to his wrist.
The Monkey Says: This is getting a little scary because the team is talking about giving him a few days off now so he can avoid the DL and potentially missing a few weeks. It is possible he may not return until some time this weekend.

The Story: Bill Stoneman is still exploring trade options.
The Monkey Says: Nothing major is expected, but the consensus is that the Angels are still on the lookout for middle relief help. Those kind of trades tend to wait until deadline day though, so remain patient.

The Story: Clearing up the confusion about Efren Navarro being designated for assignment.
The Monkey Says: I’m still a bit confused, but the key point is that he remains in the organization and on the 40-man roster.

The Story: The Angels signed lefty reliever Wesley Wright to a minor league deal.
The Monkey Says: Wright has been a decently useful LOOGY the last few years but hasn’t managed to find a gig this season. He makes for nice depth in the minors and seems likely to get called up to be a third lefty in the bullpen come September.

The Story: Projecting the prospects the Angels gave up in their outfielder trades.
The Monkey Says: The projection is that there is not much projection in either player.

The Story: Analyzing the Murphy and DeJesus trades.
The Monkey Says: Yep, two players who have been valuable because they’ve faced almost exclusively right-handed pitching. Hopefully Scioscia can follow suit. He doesn’t exactly have the greatest track record of committing to platoons.

The Story: Nine reasons to watch the Angels-Astros game.
The Monkey Says: Mike Trout was out with an injury, so make it eight.

The Story: A scouting update on Sean Newcomb.
The Monkey Says: He still walks too many batters, but he is also still awesome.
