Angels show no life; lose to Pirates 6-1

It's getting harder and harder to write something original about the Angels these days. It sure looks like the team is starting to realize this won't be there year. Tonight's game was a perfect showcase of a team that just doesn't seem to know what to do. They have struggled all season to get any sort of rhythm and rather than get angry the team seems to be going through the motions loss after loss. I'm past the point of anger myself, now it's just resignation that 2013 will not have a Red October.

Game Notes

— What is it about left handed pitchers that befuddles the offense so? Francisco Liriano has struggled his entire career against Anaheim but tonight he was brilliant. The Angel batters looked perplexed by his changeup, which has been the case for every lefty this year. This will continue to be an issue and I'm not sure what the solution is.

— I know he is a terrible defender but has anyone noticed that JB Shuck is a solid hitter. I see himas the reincarnation of Jeff Devanon, which may or may not be a compliment to the Shuckster. Either way, keep being your gritty, gutty self young man.

— At least Alberto Callaspo is starting to hit. (That's right, I've officially run out of things to say…this is miserable. Someone just put me out of my misery. Hey look ROCK OF AGES is on. That has to be better than reliving this dreck, on second thought….)

Halo A Hole

Angels show no life; lose to Pirates 6-1

It's okay Jerome I don't really blame you. It was inevitable that you would throw up a stinker given the way you've been jerked around. I'm sure I would develop a complex if my team picked Joe Blanton over me on a regular basis. But hey, now that you're gonna be a starter for a while could you not be suck a steaming pile of dung out there. Good, glad we talked.
