The Angels organizational minor league player of the year slugged .538 between two levels, posting a .411 on-base pct. and clubbed 44 doubles. He showed a good approach at the plate walk 59 times, while fanning 89 times. Chris was kind enough to answer some questions today in attempts at giving fans a closer look at Chris Pettit the ball player and the person.

A: (Chris Pettit) When I was 5 years old, coach pitch
Q: (Angelswin) Who was the most influential in your pursuit to the big leagues?
A: (Chris Pettit) My dad and my grandpa
Q: (Angelswin) What baseball player was your favorite growing up?
A: (Chris Pettit) Darin Erstad, Jim Edmonds, and Mike Piazza
Q: (Angelswin) Team you followed growing up?
A: (Chris Pettit) Angels and Dodgers
Q: (Angelswin) Best 1-game performance in your career to date?
A: (Chris Pettit) 5-5 game at High Desert with 2 HRs and 2 2Bs
Q: (Angelswin) What part of your game needs the most improvement?
A: (Chris Pettit) There’s room to improve all parts of my game
Q: (Angelswin) What aspect of your game do you take the most pride in?
A: (Chris Pettit) Playing hard and hustling
Q: (Angelswin) Who impressed you both on the mound and in the batters box while you were with Cedar Rapids & Rancho last year, and why?
A: (Chris Pettit) at CR, I was impressed with Matt Manship from Beloit because of his command of his 2 seam fastball and good curveball. In Rancho I was impressed with Jesus Rodriguez from Inland Empire because he threw a pitch that we termed a splinker because it was like a combination between a sinker and a splitter and he threw it well for strikes with good movement on it
Q: (Angelswin) What was Chris Pettit’s off-season like?
A: (Chris Pettit) I’m fairly laid back, I spent a lot of time with my friends relaxing after the fall league season was over. As far as work goes, I got a job working as a bartender at a nice little sports bar called Shipmates.

A: (Chris Pettit) I’m a sucker for ice cream

A: (Chris Pettit) Anything and basically everything except for country

A: (Chris Pettit) Either Gladiator or I’m a big fan of the SAW series

A: (Chris Pettit) I enjoy going to the beach and hanging out with my friends
