The Bad: The Pitching! Despite the Bees putting 11 runs on the board for their home opener, starting pitcher Tommy Mendoza gave up five runs on nine hits in just 4 2/3 innings of work. Relievers Jeremy Hill and Rafael Rodriguez blew the save and game.
The Noteworthy: Mark Trumbo was the DH on Friday with Robb Quinlan (.208) at first base.

The Good: Jeremy Thorne pitched six and 2/3 scoreless innings and earned his first win on the 2010 season. Reliever Ryan Aldridge pitched an inning and a 1/3 of scoreless late inning action, fanning three on the night. Jordan Walden dominated the ninth by striking out the side to earn his first save on the season. SS Andrew Romine (.357) went 2-3 with a walk and an RBI.
The Bad: Jeremy Moore (.174), Jay Brossman (.120) and Ryan Mount (.185) are all off to slow starts.

Relievers Robert Fish and Jeremy Haynes pitched three scoreless innings to close out the game. Ivan Contreras, Gabe Jacobo and Darwin Perez each had two hits a piece, with Contreras scoring three runs on the night. Gabe Jacobo has driven in 10 runs in just 8 games. CF Ryan Kiniry clubbed a three-run home run, his first of the season.
The Bad: Not much bad to report on a night when the Quakes won the game 9-1, but Angel Castillo and Beau Brooks went 0-er last night, pushing their batting averages below the mendoza line.
The Noteworthy: The Quakes pitching staff has given up just four runs in two games at The Hangar in Lancaster.
