While Nicky Getz and Kim DeJesus are busy globetrotting across the country on "The Amazing Race", the original "baseball wife" has been spending her days locked up.
Tuesday, Anna Benson pleaded guilty to an attack on her estranged husband, former Major League pitcher Kris Benson. You remember this, right? Back in July, Anna, clad in a bulletproof vest and armed with a gun and metal baton, stormed her ex's crib demanding $30,000.
Authorities were originally eyeing a maximum of 25 years in prison and a $200,000 fine stemming from five separate charges related to the attack. Now, because of a plea deal, the former Maxim cover girl is only looking at two of those five charges sticking.
But, according to the Atlanta Journal-Constitution, Kris Benson is not too happy with the potential deal.
“(Kris Benson asked) the court not to accept the plea,” Assistant Cobb County District Attorney Don Geary said. “Ultimately, he wants safety for himself and his children and has great concern about the children and the affect that the defendant’s behavior has on them.”
Sounds about right.
