While I try to put my head back together after last night’s explosion, the Pirates and Mets will play again tonight. The Mets will send knuckleballer RA Dickey, who’s having a solid year, out to face Zach Duke. Just imagining this Pirate lineup taking hacks against a knuckleballer gives me nightmares. Duke will have to finish the season strongly to avoid a non-tender this winter. Is that motivation to pitch well or motivation to pitch poorly?

Last night’s Clemente was obviously James McDonald, but the runner up was Chris Resop, who’s showing up on the board here and there since he’s now JR’s first guy out of the pen before the eighth inning in close games. What a solid acquisition. Tabata’s ill-fated bunt makes him the Cangelosi and John Bowker’s inability to hit the ball hard makes him the runner-up. Standings:
