In what is sure to go down in history as "The Antoine Walker Trade"… Minnesota and Memphis have swapped 8 players in a blockbuster deal that also involves relatively unknown guys named Mayo and Love:
Two league sources told ESPN.com that the Wolves have reached an agreement in principle with the Memphis Grizzlies that will send the draft rights to Mayo, Marko Jaric, Antoine Walker and Greg Buckner to the Grizzlies in return for the draft rights to Kevin Love, Mike Miller, Brian Cardinal and Jason Collins.
I actually think Minnesota looks better this year. Al Jefferson, Kevin Love, Mike Miller, Randy Foye, Corey Brewer, Ryan Gomes. That's not a bad squad. It's not necessarily a playoff squad… but it's not top 3 pick territory either.
The Grizz have a ton of guard right now. They'll be moving at least one over the summer.
And then there's Antoine. Oh 'Toine… you've gone from All Star to journeyman in such a short amount of time. I only hope your obscene amounts of cash can help comfort you as your career limps to an end.
