Four Big Ten teams have received the distinction of being ranked by the Associated Press in the preseason poll. Penn State is not one of them.
Nebraska is your highest Big Ten team in the AP preseason poll, rounding out the top ten. Wisconsin (11th) is right behind them. Michigan State and Ohio State go back-to-back at 17th and 18th in the poll.
Does the fact that Penn State is un-ranked mean anything to you? Was it expected or not? I honestly thought they would have a chance at being ranked toward the bottom of the poll, but the AP had a different opinion of the Nittany Lions than the USA Today Coaches Poll, which ranks Penn State 25th.
