Arbitrary MLB Over/Under Wins Predictions

Las Vegas has released over/unders for MLB wins in 2016.

Let’s go through the entire list, make some picks and then see how well we did come October. Just so you know, outside of the NL Central and other splashy free-agent signings, I don’t have a clue what I’m talking about here.

So DON’T actually bet on any of this advice. And don’t bet anywhere illegal.

• Giants 90 – Over | It’s an even year
• Cubs 89 – Over  | If this team doesn’t get to 90, I don’t know what team does
• Mets 88 – Push | A season long push would suck
• Cardinals 87.5 – Over | Don’t have the heart to go under
• Royals 87 – Under | Smoke clears; mirrors break
• Dodgers 87 – Over | Better than what they showed last season
• Pirates 87 – Under | Wrong moment in time to be just pretty good
• Blue Jays 87 – Under | They tried to grab a ring and couldn’t
• Nationals 87 – Over | Can’t be bad two years in a row with an MVP
• Rangers 86 – Under
• Red Sox 85.5 – Over
• Astros 85.5 – Under | Everyone will be ready for them from the jump in ’16
• Tigers 85 – Over
• Yankees 85 – Over | Won’t lose many games if they can get a lead in 6 innings
• D’backs 84.5 – Over | MLBs most intriguing team
• Indians 84 – Under
• Mariners 83 – Over
• Angels 82.5 – Under | This is probably the year that Bert’s contract really hurts
• Orioles 80.5 – Under | Side bet – rumors of a Davis trade before the end of June
• White Sox 80.5 – Over | Could be a sneaky contender in the AL Central
• Marlins 80.5 – Under | Hahahaha
• Rays 78 – Under
• Twins 77.5 – Over
• Athletics 75.5 – Over | just because of Moneyball
• Padres 74 – Under
• Brewers 71.5 – Under | At beginning of complete re-build
• Reds 71 – Under | Waaaaaay under – Once Votto is traded we got a real bad team
• Rockies 68.5 – Under | This is a poor team
• Philles 66.5 – Over
• Braves 65 – Push

So there you go. Let’s check back in like 8 months and see just how misguided all of this was. For real, though… that Cubs line is going to be betted up, right?
