Are you KIDDING me?

Stuff rattling through The BBC braintrust right now;

LeBron James

Unfortunately, I wasn’t able to see the Cavaliers game last night (non-Ohio airports don’t wanna play Cavs games on their monitors and in their sports bars, dammit), so I had to follow the action on ESPN Mobile on my phone.  It’s just not the same, yo.

But I did get to watch the points rack up on the leaderboard all night.

King James ended his night in NYC by scoring 52 points, and tacking on 10 rebounds and 11 assists….by the way, that’s the most points ever in a triple-double performance since the NBA merged with the ABA.  That’s 34 years, 10 more than LeBron’s been alive.

And for all the hoopla that New York Knick fans are making about LeBron becoming one of theirs in two years, they’re probably thinking that Jesus is in the NBA and he’s coming to save them.  We’ve got news for you, New York….he ain’t coming to your team, and he looks that good every night because he just LOVES to play against you.

Against the Knicks, here’s his recent numbers;

  • 2/4/09 – 52 pts, 10 rebs, 11 assists
  • 12/3/08 – 21 pts, 5 rebs, 6 assists
  • 11/25/08 – 26 pts, 4 rebs, 1 assist
  • 3/5/08 – 50 points, 8 rebs, 10 assists
  • 12/19/07 – 32 points, 8 rebs, 6 assists
  • 11/2/07 – 45 points, 7 rebs, 7 assists
  • 3/28/07 – 24 points, 6 rebs, 7 assists
  • 3/23/07 – 21 points, 3 rebs, 10 assists
  • 11/29/06 – 27 points, 7 rebs, 6 assists
  • 11/13/06 – 29 points, 4 rebs, 6 assists
  • 4/5/06 – 36 points, 2 rebs, 7 assists
  • 1/10/06 – 36 points, 7 rebs, 7 assists
  • TOTAL AVERAGE – 33.25 ppg, 6 rebs, 7 assists

If you only saw a guy 3 times a year and he ALWAYS threw up MVP numbers (even on bad nights), you’d piss your pants trying to get him too.  But pay no mind to the pretenders behind the curtain, Cavs fans.  No amount of $$$ is gonna sway him to play for a losing team again, especially when he’s found chemistry and victories like he has at home.

Mo Williams

Yo, Mo….I say to hell with the All-Star committee.  Take your anger out on the league.

Williams was snubbed TWICE in the same year by the All-Star game, first when he didn’t get named as a reserve, and now when the Celtics Ray Allen was selected over him to replace the injured Jameer Nelson.

Honestly, that’s a major F.U. to this city and our point guard.  Some serious destruction needs to be laid down by the wine and gold the rest of the way to prove a point.

So one Cav will play in the big game, LeBron.  To me, that begs to ask another pressing question…..

The Cavaliers have the second-best record in the NBA.  We’re battling out the other three elite NBA teams (Orlando, Boston, Los Angeles) for top dog, and it’s been a war so far.

  • Orlando got three players named to the All-Star team
  • Boston now has three players named to the All-Star team
  • Los Angeles got two players named to the All-Star team
  • Cleveland got one

If LeBron James is the only worthy All-Star and his team is among the elite four squads….then wouldn’t that make him the clear, obvious MVP of the NBA? One man got us to this level of excellence, right?

Then prove it and give the man the MVP….or pull your thumb out of your ass and realize that we’ve got other worthy players on the squad who have helped make us among the greatest.

The BBC

My trip to Vegas is now officially over.  I ended up coming home with more money than expected, which is always a plus.  But I also may be in danger, having found a new thrill in sports betting.  I placed two wagers on the Cavaliers and won them both.  I gave up 4.5 points to the Pistons and a 4th-quarter rally gave me the win.  Then I gave the Raptors 10.5 points and watched us cruise to victory (but the third quarter was scary).

Winning money and celebrating my team makes for dangerous territory.  Let’s see if I succumb to future gambling….

But I will say this….on Tuesday afternoon, it was AWESOME to grab a seat in the Ceasars’ sports-booking zone and have the Cavaliers-Raptors on one 50-foot screen and the Buckeyes-Boilers game on the next 50-foot screen.  It was Heaven.
