Checking in with our wish list… I think you can guess where this is headed:
Jeff
- Terrelle’s average day- Nosir. Only 76 yards passing and 104 yards rushing. Granted, there was an injury involved and a lot of wind, but still.
- A third WR having a big day- Nope. See above
- Score 30 or more points- Nope
- Jim Tressel’s 99th win at Ohio State- Success!! Next week’s the centennial.
Eric
- Four passes to the tight ends– Stoney was injured, and Fragel only had one catch.
- Solid play from the secondary– Illinois only had 13 receptions for132 yards, 23 of which came on the throwback to the QB. I call this a Win(d).
- Posey to have a big day– Nope. 3/19 is not “big” by any stretch of the imagination, especially given the significant drop he had, a blown blocking assignment, and a penalty. Lots of work to do, DePo.
- Solid play in the running game– Kinda. Saine is still struggling, but Boom is running like a man possessed. His will and strength carried the 4th quarter, when TP was injured.
Jay
- Taking it to the next level- No way. If anything, we took a step back.
- A breakout game for somebody- Not the way that we intended, but Christian Bryant managed to play solidly after Moeller went down.
- Pressure on the QB- Scheelhaase had 12 yards on 11 rushes, and was never able to truly get comfortable. Great job by the defensive front.
Mali
- No False Starts- Nuts.
- Better Coverage- I’m calling this a “win”; no big pass plays due to blown coverage, no QB scrambles making a mess of things… better.
- Hall/Berry- Nope.
- Sad Panda Zook- If anything, we may have just extended his contract. Not that it’s a bad thing.
- Stupid Wooden Turtle- Hooray.
Joe
- Win the Turnover Battle- We threw two picks, they threw one. Fail.
- A Punt or Kickoff return- Hall ran hard, but no scores.
- That we are ready for the big ten season after the first four easy games- The jury is still out on this one… is Ohio State ready?
