Spotlight on: Ohio State Women’s Volleyball – 10/12 vs Indiana
The No. 19 Buckeyes defeated Indiana 3-1 (23-25, 25-22, 25-12, 25-17) on Friday night, coming back after dropping the first set to the Hoosiers. Senior Emily Danks led the way for Ohio State, finishing with 18 kills, 7 digs, and 3 block assists. Mari Hole notched her ninth double-double of the year for the Bucks, finishing with 15 kills and 15 digs, while classmate Mariah Booth had nine kills and five blocks. Junior Kaitlyn Leary added 10 kills.
In the first set, Indiana took an 8-6 lead after two three-point runs. The Buckeyes tied it up before committing two errors to give the lead back to Indiana at 14-12. Ohio State fought back and eventually took a 19-17 lead, but it did not last. The Hoosiers battled and the set eventually ended up locked at 23 before they came up with back-to-back blocks to win it.
In the second set, a Booth kill ignited run by the Buckeyes that cut the Hoosier lead to one at 14-13. Eventually, the Buckeyes took the lead 21-19 after a service ace by Taylor Sherwin. The set was secured for the Buckeyes after a kill by freshman Andrea Kacsits.
The Buckeyes took a 7-3 lead in the third set, and a 6-1 run led them to a 17-7 advantage. Two kills in a row from Hole gave Ohio State a 24-12 lead, and the set was won (25-12) after a block by Hole/Booth.
In the fourth set, Hole & Leary blocks as well as a Booth/Danks block gave the Buckeyes a 14-8 advantage. The Hoosiers fought back and cut the Buckeye lead to three at 18-15, but they got no closer. An 8-2 run by Ohio State gave them the set and the match.

Women’s Volleyball
10/13 – The Buckeyes were defeated by No. 17 Purdue 3-1 on Saturday (25-19, 25-15, 20-25, 25-23) at St. John Arena.
Men’s Soccer
10/7 – The Buckeyes dropped a 2-1 decision to Michigan State last Sunday. Sophomore Yianni Sarris scored the one and only goal for Ohio State.
10/10 – Ohio State shut out in-state foe Bowling Green 2-0 last Wednesday. Austin McAnena and Alec Lowell each scored for the Buckeyes.
Women’s Soccer
10/7 – Tiffany Cameron had her 7th game winning goal of the season as the Buckeyes edged Purdue 1-0 last Sunday.
10/12 – Aly Walker scored two goals in the first half to help lead the Buckeyes past Iowa 4-1. Tiffany Cameron and Kristen Niederhaus also scored for Ohio State.
Men’s Cross Country
10/12 – The Buckeyes finished 39th in the 8k Wisconsin Adidas Invitational. Senior Donny Roys led the way for Ohio State, finishing 53rd with a personal best time of 24:02.
Women’s Cross Country
10/12 – Ohio State finished 33rd in the 9k Wisconsin Adidas Invitational. Junior Meredith Wagner was the top finisher for the Buckeyes, finishing 63rd with a personal best time of 20:35.
Men’s Golf
10/9 – Ohio State finished 11th with a 36-hole score of 629 at the Jack Nicklaus Tournament in Dublin. The tournament was cut to 36 holes due to frost on both Monday and Tuesday mornings. Freshman Tee-K Kelly led the Bucks with an 11-over 155 to finish 23rd.
Field Hockey
10/7 – The No. 16 Buckeyes defeated Ball State 9-1 last Sunday. Paula Pastor-Pitarque and Mona Frommhold both finished with hat tricks for the Buckeyes
