As the Goalies Turn (Part IV)

Well, we finally learned the other day where Vokoun has ended up. It is obvious he priced himself out of the market. He probably saw what Bryz got and wanted something similar. And I bet all the GMs laughed at him.

He has landed in Washington for just one year and 1.5 million. Oh my, can’t stop laughing at that.

I love how people are like “oh the Coyotes should have gotten him for that!” I bet when the Coyotes talked to him, he wanted a much higher rate & longer deal then he got. GMDM laughed and went ok Smith, what do you want? It’s a deal.

Or the, “He wanted to go to a contender!” I’m sure that was part of it but the Caps haven’t advanced passed the 2nd round in the past four years.

Obviously this is just my opinion based on what I’ve heard/seen over the years. Maybe he did want to sign with Washington the entire time but had to wait for the Vrly trade but honestly… I doubt it.

This pretty much ends the “As the Goalies Turn” series. There really isn’t too many left. If anything of importance pops up, I will  be sure the write about it at some point. 😛

Minor Coyotes Note: They have signed Curtis McElhinney as a goalie. I assume this is for the AHL and we were unable to resign Climie who is UFA.
