This quote pretty much sums up the entire game. Once again, the Bruins forget to play for 40 minutes, then fired on all cylinders for the third only to come up just short. Not sure if it’s a coaching problem, a leadership problem, etc., but this strategy really needs to stop.
That’s why this team is so frustrating this season. You see the potential of what they can do, but they’re so inconsistent that it doesn’t tend to matter. That is not championship caliber play. Especially not against a team like the Blackhawks.
Whatever though. That was a damn entertaining 20 minutes of hockey.
And seriously, we hope Toews is okay. That looked bad.
But hey, it could’ve been worse right?

Sorry. Don’t worry though, I’m crying with you.
– Bergeron came out on fire in the second period. Produced a couple of great scoring chances and even hit a post but that damn Scott Darling was being a dick and not letting the Bruins score.
– That Brad Marchand is an absolute demon on the PK. That shifty bastard.
– The Blackhawks power play is pretty good. The Bruins PK tonight was better.
– The Marchand-Bergeron-Smith line. Again. Essentially the Bruins are a one line team right now.
– When Reilly Smith scored in the second I swore at my TV because I just assumed that it was the Blackhawks that scored because I didn’t think the Bruins knew how. What a shot by Reilly though. Buried that like… I dunno, put in your own metaphor here. I’m not here to hold your hand. I’m not your fucking dad. And damn Marchand, that pass was great.
– Quote of the night by far:
– Marchand. Solid, solid game. He’s been soooooooooooooo good lately.
– Bergeron was back to being a face-off god. And he’s just awesome.
– For the first ten minutes of the third Chicago pretty much just focused on shutting the Bruins down and not pushing play. Bruins realized this and went on the attack. It was a solid start to the period. Wish they could flip that switch all the time.
– Fiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiine Lucic made a great play and great effort on the Krug goal. And what a shot by Krug. And thanks to Jack Edwards I will only call Krug “Little Caboose” from now on.
Lucic had a great third period in general. If he played like that more often I’d shit on him less. Probably. Maybe.
– Chris…Kelly…got….in….a…..fight?
– Bruins were fucking fired up after Shaw hit Lucic on B’s second goal. Jebus. But again, sorry to be a dick here when there’s something positive happening…but why did it take the Bruins so long to get fired up for this game?
– Bruins effort in the third period in general. If they didn’t waste 40 minutes before playing like this they likely win that game. This has been a huge problem all season. They looked so good though for those 20 minutes.
– Don’t think you can really blame Rask for any of Chicago’s goals. Deflection by Griffith, terrible turnover on Smith’s goal then Bruins watched Patrick Kane puck handle for ten minutes before picking his spot. Rask made several key stops, especially on the PK.
– How, how, HOW do you get a 3 on 1 and not even get a shot off? That’s Bruins hockey this year. Be right back, doing shots of whiskey.
– Seth Griffith scored the first goal of the game. Unfortunately for him, he scored it on Rask. Then everyone on Twitter made dumb Klas/class jokes.
– Griffith had a great assist too… on Ben Smith’s goal on Rask. Rough/unlucky night for Seth.
– Remember those days where if the Bruins went down by a goal or two you didn’t care because they were so resilient? Now they go down by a goal and you worry if the Bruins will score at all, never mind a comeback. Tonight was an exception. Still fell short though.
– Bruins power play.
– Bruins looked old and slow for large portions of the game. If only B’s management would give younger, faster kids more chances….
– Bruins 4th line. So disgustingly gross. Awful. Terrible. It’s like they’re the Sabres first line.
– Definitely don’t think Seidenberg’s hit on Toews was intentional or malicious. Two big guys battling for the puck and unfortunately Toews got smashed. Penalty time. Chicago getting a 5 on 3 is fucking TERRIFYING. Luckily Bergeron and Rask provided a bailout.
– Lucic was so impressed with Patrick Kane’s skills that he just sat there and watched as Kane took his sweet time picking his spot on Rask. A shooter like Kane is rarely going to miss if you give him that kind of time you dumb Bruins.
Young guys like Spooner earn a trip on 95 south for this kind of shit. Will never understand why Lucic continually gets a free pass.
– The Bruins wouldn’t even be able to finish a two piece puzzle. That’s how bad they are at finishing. Wrote that line/made this photoshop before they scored their two goals. This may not have applied completely tonight, but it does apply to the season overall.
– Just in case you didn’t hear NESN mention it all three million times, both the Bruins and the Blackhawks are original six teams!
– Stupid, stupid, stupid decision by the Blackhawks to let Toews back on the ice after that Seidenberg hit. I could tell he was glassy eyed on TV. You’re telling me the training staff on the bench couldn’t see that?
– TD Garden crowds have been terrible this season. Even when the game was 0-0 it was like an arena sized quiet room. Seems like they only cheer for fights. Blah. There are other parts to a hockey game you buffoons.
– That Berries commercial. Acting was so bad I thought it was Megan Fox in costume.
– Think the Bruins brought Chara back too soon. He didn’t seem steady on his skates at all.
– Carl slumping soooooooooooooooooo hard.
– Am I the only person that hears “titty garden” when someone says TD Garden too fast?
– Am I the only person that hears this song whenever a team gets a Too Many Men penalty.

– Why did anyone expect Chara to NOT be rusty tonight? He hasn’t played in like eleven years. Give or take 10 years 10 months. It felt like a really long time.
– Why does Chara like Patrick Kane’s face so much?
– WE are Groot.
