Saturday, Al Jazeera dropped a bombshell.
The television network produced an investigative special report “The Dark Side” and in it…claims that All-Stars Ryan Howard and Ryan Zimmerman, along with current free-agent Taylor Teagarden, obtained performance-enhancing drugs back in 2011.
According to the documentary, Charlie Sly, a pharmacist at the Indiana-based anti-aging clinic Guyer Institute provided the three players Delta-2, a hormone supplement designed to stay ahead of drug tests. Teagarden, who last saw playing time this past season with the Chicago Cubs, is even shown openly talking about his use.
But, Howard, Zimmerman and Teagarden aren’t the only Major Leaguers suspected of using PEDs.
“I believe that, at a minimum, twenty percent of the 40-man roster players are using performance enhancing substances. And that’s a conservative number from the information I’ve gathered over the years.” former MLB security agent Eddie Dominguez said. “That would mean that there should be 100 ball players that test positive…but they don’t.”

“It’s inexcusable and irresponsible that Al Jazeera would provide a platform and broadcast outright lies about Mr. Howard and Mr. Zimmerman,” William Burck said. “The extraordinarily reckless claims made against our clients in this report are completely false and rely on a source who has already recanted his claims. We will go to court to hold Al Jazeera and other responsible parties accountable for smearing our clients’ good names.”
Charlie Sly, the pharmacist in the middle of this whole thing, also responded to the Al Jazeera report via YouTube and claimed he was the victim of a “fraudster”.
