Audio: Toucher & Rich hang up on Rick Pitino

Pitino is a dirty word in Boston.  Regardless of what he did before or after his stint with the Celtics, any C’s fan who lived through that debacle still looks at him with disdain.  Not only did he throw the team into a decade long funk, he arrogantly supplanted Red Auerbach as President of the team.  Rather than acknowledge C’s history and weave himself into its fabric, he tried to recreate it in his own image.

And we’re still pissed about that.

So, apparently, is Fred Toucher of 98.5’s top-rated morning show “Toucher & Rich”.  Pitino was on to promote… I dunno… maybe more spaghetti sauce?  Signature hair gel?  ANOTHER book?

Regardless, Toucher’s “interview” lasted all of about five seconds.  Here’s the transcript, followed by the audio.

Fred: We are joined by Rick Pitino, former coach of the Celtics, current coach of the Louisville Cardinals who won the national championship. Rick Pitino, hello!

Pitino:Morning, guys.

Fred: You stink. You ruined the Celtics.
