In case you have not been paying attention to the blog or the Twitter feed lately, on Friday afternoon I dropped into the TSN 1200 studios to record an ‘Advanced Chats’ episode. For the unawares, ‘Advanced Chats’ is a new program hosted by Ian Mendes that interviews different Sens bloggers each week to get a fresh perspective on the Ottawa Senators. The show airs Sunday mornings at 9:00 am (EST) and as promised, now that the audio is online, I’m also making it available here.
If you scroll to the bottom of this post, you can stream the audio via the embedded player. You can also access the audio via the TSN 1200‘s website here.
We discussed analytics and its role in NHL front offices, player development and got into some of the history behind this blog. Not everything that Mendes wanted to discuss during the show made it to air however, so if you want to read more about some of the questions that we ran out of time for, I answered them in a separate blog entry that you can access by following this link.
As I mentioned in that entry, ‘Advanced Chats’ is a program in its infancy and it’s a fantastic opportunity for bloggers to reach a broader hockey audience. Support local programming by sharing and making an effort to tune in each week so that opportunities like this continue in the future. Oh, and if you want to give feedback on the show to the station (@tsn1200)Ian Mendes (@ian_mendes) or me (@6thSens), you can find us on Twitter or you can email me at the6thsens at live dot com.
Thanks again to Ian and to TSN 1200 for giving me the opportunity to talk Senators hockey.
