Austin Toros games now streaming online

torosI’ve always wanted to get up to Austin to watch Toros games and keep updated on the Spurs players that are playing or were playing for the Toros, but I’ve yet to be able to make it up. So far, D-League fans have only been able to catch games on NBA TV, but starting this week D-League games are now streaming live online at the D-League website.
D-League president Dan Rees made the announcement Monday on his blog.
“Starting right now, at least until the end of the 2007-08 NBA D-League season, you can watch every single D-League game live, right here on D-League.com. The best part: It is all completely FREE.”
“As far as we can tell, this is the first time any professional sports league – minor or major – has enabled free online video streaming of all of their games in their entirety.”
Kudos to Dan and to the D-League for being forward-thinking enough to allow fans to follow their favorite D-League teams and players online.
As of today, I’ve watched two Toros games online and will be able to talk a little bit more about the team and players during our Toros updates on the Spurscast. We’ll also likely have weekly or bi-weekly Toros updates available here so we can dedicate a little more time than we do on the quick podcast update.
The next opportunity to watch Keith Langford, Ian Mahinmi, Dermarr Johnson, Marcus Williams and the rest of the Toros will be this Sunday at 4 p.m. against the Iowa Energy .
