One of the long tenured Celtics is making a departure out of Boston from where it all began, Avery Bradley has been one of the most important players on this team since being drafted out of Texas in 2010. With the addition of F Gordon Hayward, the C’s are dumping out salaries to make room, has unfortunately met its way with Bradley, who’s 8 million dollar contract conflicts with trying to acquire Hayward.
Reports say that the 26 year old shooting guard has been traded to the Detroit Pistons, and a second round pick in the next draft, for F Marcus Morris, an offensive scoring threat for the Pistons along with being a physical beast. The 6’9 and nearly 240 pound Morris should fit right into the C’s system as an aggressive scorer and rebounder.
Bradley, over the course of his career in Boston, has averaged 12 points a game in six seasons along with just over 3 boards a game. This past season in particular, Bradley took it up a notch by averaging nearly 6 rebounds a game to go with almost 17 points.
Morris on the other hand, has averaged almost 11 points a game and 4 rebounds in his 6 years in the NBA. Coming out of the University of Kansas with his twin brother Markieff, the two have made a statement in the NBA with being established players who are tough and gritty.
Other Celtics news includes that FA C Kelly Olynyk has signed a 4 year 50 million dollar deal with the Miami Heat, sources say. The outside shooting center is a valuable asset to any team looking to boost up the shooting corps and Olynyk should be able to coexist with players like Tyler Johnson and James Johnson.
