During last night's victory over the New Jersey Nets, Avery Bradley once again displayed his hounding on-the-ball defense that the Celtics management has lauded since they drafted him. Bradley showed a few flashes of it last season, but in the minutes he's been given thus far, it's been evident. Coupled with some of his offensive skills as well, last night Doc told Chris Forsberg of ESPNBoston that he should be referred to as a 'honey badger.'
The honey badger is a hilarious youtube video that describes the various adventures it encounters. The nickname has already been given to LSU's football defensive player Tyrann Mathieu. So why not assign it to Bradley, a fantastic, guard-pestering, I-don't-give-a-shit defender, as the NBA's version? Check out the video below and you can see it makes sense.
