After the game Avery asked the media to help him get an explanation for why he was assessed a unsportsmanlike conduct when he didn’t drop his gloves during his initial altercation with Mike Mottau (via Bergen Record)…
“Obviously, we know why,” Avery said. “I don’t know, why would they send me off? It’s a regular penalty. I’d like you guys [the media] to start calling and asking that and give me an explanation.”
…these last two games are exactly what the #AveryArmy has been saying “The Grate One” can bring to this team. Energy, speed and passion. Oh yeah, and he’s a real pain in the you know what. Absolutely loved that after Avery’s high stick wasn’t detected on Tavares late in the third period he started talking smack to former #1 pick from the bench.
