The last time the Cardinal and Crimson met, Jared Berggren dribbled through two defenders, picked up a head of steam towards the basket, and did that (above) to Big Ten defensive player of the year, Victor Oladipo. Why don't you see for yourself.
Today, the #22 ranked and fourth-seeded Badgers (22-10, 12-6) will look for some more magic when they go up against national powerhouse #3 ranked and first-seeded Indiana (27-5, 14-4) in the semi-final game of the Big Ten Tournament. The game tips off at 12:40 CT time on CBS.
History is on Wisconsin's side today, as the Badgers have defeated the Badgers 11 straight times, dating back to the start of the 2007-08 season. Indiana Head Coach Tom Crean has never beaten Wisconsin in his tenure at Indiana.
The last time the two met was a January 15th game at the crazy atmosphere of Assembly Hall. The Badgers came in as heavy underdogs against then #2 Indiana. There was no fear in the eyes of Wisconsin.
Thanks to brilliant defensive efforts from Mike Bruesewitz on Victor Oladipo and Jared Berggren on Cody Zeller, the Badgers held Indiana to their season-low 37.0% shooting. The Badgers played arguably their best offensive game against a stellar IU defense, shooting 45.1% with 12 assists and just 8 turnovers. All this lead to a major road upset and a signature win for Wisconsin, who took down the #2 Hoosiers 64-59 on their home court.
Once again, the Badgers' enter today's game as six point underdogs. Do that Badgers' pay attention to that? Absolutely not. "We're not really concerned about what other people think. Clearly," Mike Bruesewitz said. "If I did, I wouldn't have this ridiculous haircut".
