Badgers Add 6th Wisconsin Player to 2013 Football Class

Wisconsin wasted very little time moving on from the disappointment of losing four star prospect Darius Latham last week because they pulled the trigger on an offer to in-state product Matt Hubley and the safety took the offer and ran with it, accepting it just 48 hours later according to reports.

Hubley is a product of the Waukesha area, playing his football at Waukesha Catholic Memorial High School. Before this summer Hubley was a little known recruit, barely on the scholarship radar for the Badgers or any other big named school, but after running one of the fastest 40 times of the Badgers summer camp they quickly became interested.

Well, his senior season is going so well that the offer came and was quickly accepted, allowing the lifelong Badger fan to have his dream of playing in the Cardinal and White to come true. His versatility doesn't hurt either as he plays running back on offense and played strong safety, free safety, and then this year at outside linebacker for the Crusaders.

This season he's rushed for over 1,200 yards so far, averaging 8.3 yards a carry at running back and in the level one game against Brown Deer last week recorded 3.5 sacks from his outside linebacker position.

He was a two way star for the Crusaders, but the position he'll be playing at for Wisconsin is safety. Hubley had interest from the likes of Boise State, Colorado State, and Central Michigan but the offer from Wisconsin was his first.

As for rankings, WisSportsNet ranked him the 5th best DB in the state in the 2013 class and he wasn't ranked at all by any of the recruiting services out there.

One of the most intriguing and underrated scholarship players in this class for sure, but also perhaps one of the strongest players, as you'll see on tape. He often played with his hand down and was found on the line of scrimmage more often than not. Yet, at just 195 pounds he was dominate and a playmaker.

We'll let the tape of him from the start of the season speak for itself though:
