Earlier today the USA Today Coaches Poll released their preseason rankings and the Badgers came in ranked No. 21. Wisconsin received 191 total points, just 6 behind No. 20 San Diego State. Wisconsin was the last of a nation best 5 teams from the Big Ten conference to be ranked. Indiana was dubbed preseason favorites by being ranked No. 1 in the poll.
The Badgers finished last season ranked No. 12 in the USA Today Coaches Poll following their run to the sweet sixteen in the NCAA tournament and will look to head back to the tourney for the 12th straight year this season.
With all but one starter back it's not that surprising to see the Badgers in the rankings, even if that missing starter was the do-everything Jordan Taylor. This team still returns the vast majority of it's scoring presence and adds one of the most sought after freshman in the country in Sam Dekker to the frontcourt.
