The future schedules for Badgers football is really taking shape quickly and today the Big Ten helped create some more certainty, announcing the 2018 and 2019 conference schedules for all teams.
Wisconsin got a hell of a slate in the first lineup of games in the nine game conference slates of 2016 and 2017, and that won't change much the next two years either.
In 2018, the Badgers get cross-division matchups with Michigan, Rutgers and Penn State and will see a less-than-stellar home slate of Nebraska, Illinois, Rutgers and Minnesota.
What makes 2018 so interesting and difficult though, is an opening stretch of at Iowa, vs. Nebraska and at Michigan.
The Badgers will face road trips in three of the final five games, with byes coming the week after the Iowa game and the week before the Minnesota game to end the season.
Here is the full 2018 schedule:
Date | Game |
Sept. 22 | at Iowa |
Oct. 6 | NEBRASKA |
Oct. 13 | at Michigan |
Oct. 20 | ILLINOIS |
Oct. 27 | at Northwestern |
Nov. 3 | RUTGERS |
Nov. 10 | at Penn State |
Nov. 17 | at Purdue |
Dec. 1 | MINNESOTA |
2019 is almost the opposite of the 2018 schedule as the Badgers start the Big Ten slate with three straight home games, but they may not be easy with Michigan, Northwestern and Michigan State up first.
With three straight at home to open Big Ten play, the Badgers will face four of their final six on the road, including a trip to Ohio State as the final cross-divisional game on the 2019 schedule.
The season ends with a trip to Minnesota, as it appears the main rivalry games will continue to play out in the final week of the season across the conference.
Here is the full 2019 schedule:
Date | Game |
Sept. 21 | MICHIGAN |
Sept. 28 | NORTHWESTERN |
Oct. 12 | MICHIGAN STATE |
Oct. 19 | at Illinois |
Oct. 26 | at Ohio State |
Nov. 9 | IOWA |
Nov. 16 | at Nebraska |
Nov. 23 | PURDUE |
Nov. 30 | at Minnesota |
