Quick Analysis: Penn State has done the definition of back in to the playoffs, having not won a series outright since sweeping Wisconsin back on Jan. 15 and 16. Since then, PSU has put up a record of 5-8-1 and went from front runners for the Big Ten regular season title to having to play in the first round of the Big Ten tournament.
Meanwhile, Wisconsin has found life as of late, including a big win over bitter rival Minnesota. UW has also won 2 of its last 3 contests overall and come in the much hotter team.
However, this is still the same Badgers squad that has fallen behind in the majority of games, only to comeback and let golden opportunities to become nightmares. If Besse and Kunin are on and Matt Jurusik continues to stop spilling rebounds in to bad situations, UW has a chance.
Prediction: Penn State 4, Wisconsin 2
Don’t be surprised to see UW fight hard over the first few periods…only to give the game away to some cheap stuff late in this contest. Consider it a just end to a second-straight horrific season.
