Badgers pick up surprise commit from RB Bradrick Shaw

The Wisconsin Badgers 2015 class continues to fluctuate as we come closer and closer to national signing day. It continued to change on Saturday night as the Badgers picked up a surprise commitment from a running back previously thought to be off the radar — Bradrick Shaw of the famed Hoover program in Birmingham, Ala.

He tweeted out his commitment to the Badgers on Saturday night:

Shaw had most of his 247Sports Crystal Ball predictions for Vanderbilt and the home-state Crimson Tide. However, with the Badgers apparently cooling on Davon Crookshank things apparently heated back up in the recruitment of Shaw.

He comes to the Badgers as the No. 36-ranked running back in the class and the No. 404-ranked player nationally.

Shaw is a nice combo of size and speed, at 6-1 and 205 pounds and clocked at a 4.55 40-yard dash time.

It had been some time since Shaw’s name was associated with the program, but he did take an official visit to Madison on Sept. 27 and made his commitment late in the process. His lead recruiter at Wisconsin was Thomas Brown, who continues to do amazing work on the recruiting trail.

Shaw comes to the Badgers out of one of the most historically powerful high school programs in the country, and if you want to know more there’s a great profile of him here:

Shaw is commitment No. 26 for the Badgers, who are likely to not take the commitment of Crookshank and technically will make it No. 25 for the class. With the commitment the Badgers have moved to No. 29 on the 247Sports composite team rankings, while staying 4th in the Big Ten as well.
