Badgers Return to Albuquerque as 4 Seed in NCAA Tournament

Selection Sunday can be unkind to some and kind to others and Wisconsin may have a mix of both as they find themselves heading out west to play in the NCAA 2nd Round as they earned a 4 seed and will take on 13 seed Montana Grizzlies on Thursday.

There are a lot of interesting storylines that appear for this matchup and we’ll be breaking it down more in depth throughout the week, but the most interesting storyline is Wisconsin returning to Albuquerque, New Mexico.  The last time the Badgers played there the year was 2000 and Wisconsin fans know that year very well as they made the Final Four.

The Badgers don’t make the Final Four that year if it weren’t for a buzzer beater by Freddie Owens, who is now an assistant coach at Montana.

Just looking at this matchup it’s not going to be as easy as some in twitterland thought because they are a very experienced team with great guard play and they shoot the ball extremely well.  Last time I checked, that’s a recipe for disaster for this team in the NCAA tournament.  But, I’m not willing to make a call in this one just yet and we’ll have more on that for you as the game comes closer.

Stay tuned throughout the week as we bring you more in depth coverage of this matchup and the tournament as a whole!!

In fact all you bracketheads that need or want to vent, we’ve got you covered tonight as we bring you our first edition of College Tourney Central – Bracket Reaction. We’ll be breaking down who got in, who was left out and of course give you the skinny on which brackets are harder and we give you our predictions on the First Four games in Dayton on Tuesday and Wednesday.
