Andrew Bailey will miss the start of the season with a thumb injury and will be placed on the DL. Bobby Valentine is going to go with one closer, not a closer by committee to replace Bailey but he did not announce who that might be when he met with reporters today. Valentine’s only update on Beckett was that he expects him to make the start on Saturday.
