Barth continues to be Money from all distances

Barth continues to be Money from all distancesSlowly, steadilly, thankfully, the memory of the Mike Nugent vs NO ONE HEALTHY training camp battle for kicker that took place last year is fading into the distant places of the universe. And it’s all thanks to his replacement, Shane Andrus. No wait, we need to fade him away too! Because HIS replacement Connor Barth was looking at first like HE TOO would fade into oblivion. Not all at first mind you. Barth kicked 3 FGs more than 50 yards in a single game last year vs the Miami Dolphins. But then he started to waver just a bit, just enough to make you think to yourself “Ahh thats why he was available?”! Barth was merely a 76% kicker at North Carolina, and was signed as an undrafted free agent by the KC Chiefs in 2008. He tried to beat out KC kicker Nick Novak, but failed and was released. Long enough that is to be brought back when Novak was unreliable, and Barth kicked all the way up until week 15 when he missed two FGs including what wo u ld have been a 50 yard game winner. Barth kicked against the Bucs in the now famous comeback game where Clifton Smith returned his Kick Off for a TD and ignited the largest comeback in Bucs history. He was replaced by a Succop. No really, Ryan Succop. Barth went to Miami but didnt land on the Roster, that is Miami’s roster, until Tampa Bay put the call out for him and he had that record tying 3 FG game against the same Dolphins. Funny how that works huh? Three other kickers are also tied in that record. Things got a little shaky for him though, especially an easy miss in Seattle, but the Bucs bounced back to win that game, and so did he, and the next week he got and made the best of, his chance to win the Barth continues to be Money from all distancesgame over New Orleansl He did it in overtime, and Barth has pretty much been unstoppable since. His only two misses? Both doinked off the Crossbar. Connor Barth has not had a kick miss the bar since week 15 of last year! And he is kicking his way into Tampa Bay record books where some impressive names already reside; like Yepremian, Iguibuike, Christie, Husten, Gramatica, and yeah, even Matt Bryant. Nail a 62 yard FG and people will talk about you for years. Go a whole season and only miss two kicks, we may talk about that 20 years from now!
