After a annihilation win over Wagner last week, the Eagles end the streak of non conference foes by obliterating Buffalo 35-3 behind a strong performance by quarterback Patrick Towles.
Towles threw for 234 yards and a pair of touchdowns without getting an interception, his second time in two weeks Towles has not been picked off. Behind the solid day passing, running backs Jon Hilliman and Davon Jones both tortured the Bulls out on the ground with a combined 2 touchdowns and 39 carries to go along with 107 yards. On the receiving end, receivers Charlie Callinan and Michael Walker both had touchdowns and were the two receivers with the least amount of receiving yards (22 and 8) to score for the Eagles.
Obliterating the Bulls in essentially every category, the Eagles made a good impression going into this Friday’s showdown against ACC killer and national title contender Clemson. On the defensive side of the ball for the Eagles today, junior defensive end Harold Landry, who racked up a triple sack bonanza against the Wagner Seahawks the week before, recorded another sack to log 4.5 on the year with 15 tackles and 3 forced fumbles. With Landry potentially moving up the draft board for some teams if he even is eligible to make it in and gets in, its very clear that Landry is a difference maker out on the gridiron for the Eagles each and every week.
