Be There: #SensSummerFanFest on Sunday, August 16th

The second annual #SensSummerFanFest will take place on Sunday, August 16th at MacLaren’s on Elgin Street.

Doors open at 1:00 pm, so brush up on your Senators history, put on your favourite or most obscure personalized Sens jersey and make your way down to the bar where there will lots to do.

If beer, playing pool, participating in Sens trivia, listening to a hockey panel hosted by yours truly and enjoy the camaraderie that comes from talking about the Senators’ newly paved parking lots and schmoozing with other Sens fans, you’re in for a lot of fun. The inaugural event was excellent and this year’s event is shaping up to be even better.

Tickets this year run $30 with a large percentage of the proceeds go to the Ottawa Senators Foundation. Tickets will be sold at the door, but to get your tickets today, they can be bought at senssummerfanfest.eventzilla.net. There is some incentive to get tickets now, besides doing a solid for @BringBackLee who organized the event and is looking to get an accurate idea of what kind of numbers he can anticipate having. The first 200 tickets purchased will include a voucher for a FREE e-copy of Bruce Firestone’s book Don’t Back Down: The Real Story of the Founding of the NHL’s Ottawa Senators to be released in December 2015.

The founding father and first Senators owner will be in attendance and will make a presentation to kick off the event.

• 1:30 – 2:20: Bruce Firestone Presentation
• 2:30 – 3:15: Free Time / Magician Mr. Smith
• 3:30 – 4:00: Trivia
• 4:15 – 5:00: Panel Hosted by 6thSens
• 5:00 – 5:30: Raffle Prizes and Closing Remarks

I have no idea whether Mr. Smith will try and make Colin Greening’s contract disappear, but here’s hoping. There will also be an NHL video game tournament that will run concurrently throughout the event and there is a raffle for some great prizes.
