Bearcats Add Two From Southern Florida

Most Cincinnati fans have been eagerly awaiting the first commitment to the Class of 2016. It seems like an eternity since National Signing Day and a lot of fans are dying to hear any news regarding football. Tommy Tuberville and staff finally received some good news this week as defensive back Dontye Carriere-Williams committed Tuesday and defensive back Romelo Webster committed Thursday. Both prospects are from the Ft. Lauderdale/Miami area and both were recruited by Florida ace-recruiter Eddie Gran and assistant coach Steve Clinkscale.

The second pledge in the Class of 2016 is from Hallandale (FL) High School defensive back Romelo Webster. Webster has reported offers from Oregon State, Pittsburgh, Toledo and others. Webster is not yet rated by 247Sports or any of the other recruiting services but that will change shortly. He is listed as a safety and measures 5’11”, weighs 178lbs and runs a 4.60 forty yard dash.

These two commitments are a fantastic way to kick off the Class of 2016 and the Bearcats may not be done just yet on their Southern Florida tour. One of the coaches from Hallandale High School sent out this tweet on Thursday as well:

In addition, many other prospects are keeping their eyes on the Cincinnati Bearcats and making their thoughts known as well starting with future WR Kahlil Lewis:

2016 could turn out to be a big year for the Bearcats with the momentum the Bearcats are gaining in southern Florida. My bet is that we will see more commits from that area in the coming months.
