The Big East finally released the schedule for this basketball season. I finally got done helping my brother move. The Bearcats play nearly a day from now. The day is continuing to look up.
The most notable thing about the schedule is that the Bearcats play on CBS this season. They play 11 Big East games on the ESPN family and CBS this year. I don’t remember the last time they were on CBS. The Ohio State game? The NCAA tournament does not count. Not only are the Bearcats on CBS, but they are at the house of horrors known as the Joyce Center.
UC opens up Big East play with 2 of their 3 conference games on ESPN2 on Monday nights. They play at Pittsburgh and host Notre Dame. They travel to Syracuse on MLK day at 3:30. And UC travels to Louisville for the final Big Monday game of the season.
Here is the schedule. If it doesn’t show all the way, open in a new tab.
The toughest part of the slate look to be the beginning and the end. Xavier, Wright St, New Mexico, at Pitt, St John’s and Notre Dame. After that they go to the RAC, where they lost last year. UC closes the year with Pitt, Nova, G-Town, at UConn, at ND, UConn again, at UofL and host USF.
The schedule breaks in a bad way for home games. After leaving Cincinnati for 3 games in the non-con, the Bearcats play 4 home games in January. They get a key 3 game homestand late in the year, but damn 5 of 7 on the road is hell in this league. So is closing with 3 of the last 5 on the road.
Boys and girls, we have a lot to look forward to. When I look at the schedule, I see a bunch of wins. It’s a great time to be a Bearcat.
