The Cincinnati Bearcats got off to a slow start tonight, falling behind 9-2, but found their footing in the middle of the first half, and pounded the Missouri Tigers, 78-63. The Bearcats had the offense rolling, hitting 53% of their shots. Yancy Gates was the man, putting up 18 and 11 with 2 blocks. Gates hit a 3 pointer to push the lead to 15 and ice the game. My best friend Dion Dixon had 16 points and 6 rebounds. Cashmere Wright had 11, and 6 assists, controlling the tempo. The Bearcats defense gave the Tigers fits, holding Mizzou to just 37% from the floor. The Bearcats also controlled the boards, getting 35, 12 offensive. It was a hell of a return to the big dance.
Up next, the UConn Huskies, who destroyed Bucknell 81-52. The teams play the late game, with a 9:40 estimated tip time.
I think Kenyon Martin sums up my feelings about this win. God, I love this season. I love this team.
