The Crosstown Shootout is simply too big to contain to a singular podcast. That’s why I had to reach out for help. I had to go to the best analyst I could think of. Just like how Bob Huggins had a play called the Fortson, I called the podcast version of the Fortson, which is NBC Sports writer Raphielle Johnson. You can see a lot of Raph’s work on College Basketball Talk, one of the premier college basketball sites on the internet. He’s also a part of the College Basketball Talk podcast, which you can also find on iTunes.

Raphielle and I jump into things by discussing the Crosstown Shootout at length. Raph breaks down Xavier and all their strengths. We do the same for the Cincinnati Bearcats. Raphielle talks about what each team needs to do to secure victory in the heated rivalry.

From there, we talk about the AAC. We run through the contenders for the league title, some of the middle of the league and discuss if the bottom of the league is anything decent. Spoiler: no.

I also pick Raphielle’s mind about college basketball topics at large. Topics such as the game of the year, the surprise of the year, the best player in college basketball. We talk Fox Sports 1 and ways to make college basketball more popular. If you are hoping there is a great solution there, sorry.

The podcast runs about 73 minutes. It didn’t seem like we talked that long, so hopefully the podcast flies by while you listen. This, and today’s earlier edition of the podcast with Chris Bains, are available on iTunes. Please subscribe and review. You can also listen on Stitcher. Pretty much wherever there is a place to listen to podcasts, you can find this one.

Thanks for the support. A huge thanks to Raphielle Johnson.
