Bearcats Earn 1st Top 10 Ranking since 2004

Cincinnati is 12-0. For that effort, they have earned a top 10 ranking. In fact, they are 8th in both the AP and coaches polls. I'll post those at the bottom of this post. This is the first time Cincinnati has been ranked in the top 10 since the 2003-2004 season. That team reached the top 10 around this time as well. But in January.

The 2004 team stayed in the top 10 for 5 weeks. They got as high as #5 in one of the polls, earning 2 votes for #1. That team wasn't really that good though. They were beaten by 100 by Louisville for their first loss of the season. That team would end up being a 4 seed in the NCAA tournament. That was also the team that saw Tony Bobbitt get punched in the groin against DePaul in the C-USA title game. That team lost by a million to Illinois in the NCAA tournament. I was not watching that game in Cincinnati. It was so bad that I didn't see that whole game because CBS pulled it.

This Cincinnati team is not that one. But, like that one, they could go 13-0 and lose to one of their conference opponents for their first loss. That's being very negative though. There is no need for negativity. It's Christmas Eve.

I hope you all have a wonderful Christmas. Thanks for all of your love and support.
