The Cincinnati Bearcats baseball team had a big weekend, as they qualified for the Big East tournament. UC put themselves in a hole by losing the first two games of a three game set against UConn. But, on senior day, the men came out ready to play for their season. A loss would have knocked them out of the tournament. Senior Dan Jensen pitched well, and senior shortstop Chris Peters was 3-5. The big hit was a 2 run double by Brandon Kline that put UC up 4-2. They went on to win 7-4.
The Big East championship tournament will take place in Clearwater, Florida. The Bearcats earned the 7th seed. They are going to be playing the 2 seed St John’s. The Red Storm swept UC in the 3 game series the teams played in late March. Game time will be approximately 1 PM, as it’s game 2 of the day. You can watch the action on the Big East website. Congratulations to the Bearcats. Let’s hope they kick some ass.
