ugly |ˈəglē| adjective ( -lier , -liest ) unpleasant or repulsive, esp. in appearance. Beauty however, is in the eye of the beholder. Today’s act of sheer beauty that had many cheering for a Bucs win because of an error in down markers, only to be taken down by a Redskin TD while celebrating a win, kept the rollercoaster ride continueing when an errant snap over the Redskins holder for Gano cost the Washington Redskins a chance to tie the Bucs, and gave Tampa Bay new life in the Playoff Race. Earlier in the day, Aaron Rogers, QB for the Packers, left his game with a concussion, and the Detroit Lions beat Green Bay bringing them too down to 8-5. The Giants will play the Vikings Monday Night at 7:20 PM EST, but the game will be in Detroit, not Minnesota. The Chicago Bears are getting destroyed by New England right now, and the Cowboys will get a shot to take Philadelphia down a notch tonight. So far, things are going the Bucs way to get them back into the playoff race. You wouldn’t have known it however, earlier in the day when Washington running back Ryan Torain set the Bucs run defense back to a month ago when running backs were getting 150+ a clip. Torain picked up over 112 yards in the first quarter alone. The Bucs continue their trend of coming to life on defense in the second half, at least thats the way it seemed with up to 3:00 left to go in the game. That’s when Donovan McNabb and the Redskins motored down the field like it was the first half all over again. There was a bit of controversy on the Fox telecast as it appeared the game was over because Fox had a 4th down play go incomplete, but the markers on the field showed 3rd down. The problem was from a Redskin reception that was for a first down but didnt appear to be enough because the fox yellow line on the field was a whole yard off. Here is that footage…

The deflation would be short lived, such as Graham Gano’s NFL career. While this play wasn’t Gano’s fault, the snap on the extra point when over the holders head, and the Bucs escaped Fed Ex Field with a win. The Bucs felt they should have been in the game from the get go, but they were totally outplayed in the first half. Only a long bomb to Arrelious Benn got the Bucs in FG range, and Connor Barth made the first of this three FGs on the day. Been finished the afternoon with 122 yards on 4 catches, and its safe to assume Benn has arrived as a wide receiver such as Mike Williams. The Bucs were getting nothing but FGs though in the second half as they were clawing their way back into the game, but another Freeman to Benn Bomb set up the Bucs with 1st and Goal before a loose ball came out of Freemans hands and the Bucs turned the ball over to Washington with just around ten minutes left in the game. The defense would hold again, and the Bucs began The Drive!
