Bellator Lightweight Championship: Brent Primus (c) (8-0) vs. Michael Chandler (18-4)
Nolan Howell: After Chandler injured his ankle in their first fight, he has reeled off two wins this year in his return. Primus hasn’t gotten a chance to defend the title he took off Chandler, suffering a knee injury in April in the first attempt at their rematch. It is hard to read anything into their first fight, despite Primus performing well to start. Chandler should be able to press through and get the dominant win that was expected the first time out. Michael Chandler by second-round TKO.
Heavyweight Bout: Frank Mir (18-12) vs. Javy Ayala (10-7)
Nolan: While there is always the BJJ in the back pocket of Mir against Ayala, the reality is he hasn’t gotten a submission win in seven years and has fallen in love with his striking. He might be the more technical striker between the two against Ayala, but it is hard to trust the chin of Mir. Javy Ayala by first-round KO.
Featherweight Bout: AJ McKee (12-0) vs. Daniel Crawford (10-2)
Nolan: Probably the final sort of showcase fight for McKee before he steps in with bigger names at featherweight, at least one can hope. AJ McKee by unanimous decision.
Featherweight Bout: Derek Campos (19-7) vs. Sam Sicilia (16-9)
Nolan: Campos was on a roll prior to a loss to Patricky Pitbull and there’s no shame in that. Aside from loading up on looping punches, Sicilia shouldn’t have too much to offer here. Campos has enough power to wear Sicilia down later on for the stoppage. Derek Campos by second-round TKO.
Women’s Flyweight Bout: Alejandra Lara (7-2) vs. Juliana Velasquez (7-0)
Nolan: Juliana Velasquez by unanimous decision.
