2010 Lookback- Benn, Arrelious

He was the one we were going to be the most excited about going into the 2010 season. He was the top receiver taken and Mike Williams was the 4th round selection. Yet immediately, Williams was the starter for the Bucs, and made splash play after splash play. Benn was no slouch,  but he just didn’t have the same effect.

Instead, Arrelious Benn would progress like most true rookies do, slowly over time. By midseason the Bucs replaced Sammie Stroughter with Benn, who added some long distance receiving skills to the mix. Benn had his season cut short by injury on this play, with the second game of the season. It’s an injury that should have him ready to play when September comes around, but just barely.

He will miss all the ota action, even if there ever is any! But that should not stop Arrelious Benn from being the starting WR next to Mike Williams on an every down basis. He is polished, has great hands, good speed and runs good routes.
