Just three days into training camp and Beno Udrih already has his first setback of the year. He broke his finger at training camp on Thursday and will be out for a few weeks.
He’ll have to wear a cast on his left index finger and according to Pop, he won’t be able to do much for three to four weeks.
This has got to be frustrating for Beno, who is coming off a disappointing season. He started last season off as the backup point guard only to get outworked by Jacque Vaugn, and I’m sure he was coming into training camp focused on trying to regain that spot.
It’s starting to look more and more like this will be Beno’s last year wearing Silver & Black, which is something he has in common with backcourt mate Brent Barry.
According to CBS Sportsline, Brent Barry has said this season will be his last in the NBA. Barry has had his ups and downs as a Spur, but last season may have been his best before he went down with an injury late in the season.
