Was Indy. Ignore the snarky CHFF speak.
We don’t need no freakin’ DomeWho was the best road team of the past decade? Believe it or not, it was Indianapolis. The Colts went 55-25-0 (.688) away from their home dome.No surprise here: As the Cold, Hard Football Facts have often noted, and as Indy’s extraordinary struggles at home in the playoffs have proven (and contrary to popular perception), a dome is generally a hindrance for home teams, at least in the playoffs.Philly, by the way, is the No. 2 road team of the past decade: 51-28-1 (.644), followed a hair behind by Indy’s rival New England: 51-29-0 (.638).
Hmmm, the Colts went 6-2 at home in the playoffs this decade. I’m not sure how that qualifies “extraordinary struggles”. They beat Denver in 2003 and 2004. They lost to Pitt in 2005. They beat KC and New England in 2006. They lost to San Diego in 2007. They beat Baltimore and the NYJ in 2009.
