Tonight, at the Liacouras Center at 7:00 pm, the La Salle Explorers take on the Temple Owls. This game has so much at stake for both teams, regional and national wise. For La Salle and Temple the winner of this game, wins the Big 5 crown for this season! La Salle right now has a share of the Big 5 crown but can win it outright tonight by defeating the Owls.

For Temple, they need to win this game for any chances of keeping their slim NCAA Tournament chances alive. Right now, many bracketologists have the Owls on the outside looking in. Temple is hungry tonight because they know the Explorers are sitting pretty good in the NCAA Tournament so beating them would only enhance their resume.

On the other hand, the Explorers cannot slip up tonight against Temple. This is a must win game for the Explorers. If they defeat the Owls they will probably secure a top four spot in the Atlantic 10 for right now. If they lose, then they miss out winning the Big 5 title outright and possibly making their road to the NCAA Tournament a little bit harder than it should be.

In this game, pay attention to three players. For Temple, pay attention to senior guard Khalif Wyatt. Wyatt has been playing good basketball lately for the Owls. He also is the top scorer in the Atlantic 10 scoring 19.8 points per game. For La Salle, pay attention to senior guard Ramon Galloway and junior guard Tyreek Duren. Galloway is up there in scoring with Wyatt. He is averaging 17.3 points per game and is capable of dropping 30 points in any given game. Now, Tyreek Duren is the Explorers floor general and should be getting consideration for Atlantic 10 player of the year. Last Saturday, Duren scored 29 points in a win over St. Joes and has reached double figures in six of his last seven games.

The matchup is set, La Salle versus Temple, Olney Avenue versus Broad Street, and Galloway versus Wyatt. It shall be a good one as this will be the same time these two teams meet as conference foes because Temple is going to the Big East next season. If you can’t make it to the game tonight, it will be shown on the CBS Sports Network.
