UConn Huskies head coach Randy Edsall has released his depth chart for the game against the Vanderbilt Commodores on Saturday at Rentschler Field and let’s just say there are some big changes.
As we already knew from after the game on Saturday, Edsall has named Cody Endres as his QB1. What’s shocking is the fact that Zach Frazer is not on the depth chart at all. Redshirt freshman Mike Box is listed as the backup to Endres. We also knew that Robbie Frey would be elevated to the No. 2 running back behind Jordan Todman and that’s the case in the depth chart below.
Erik Kuraczea, who was suspended earlier this season along with Endres, will be taking over for Mathieu Oliver at left guard. It also appears kicker Dave Teggart may have lost his starting position as he is listed in an “OR” situation with Chad Christen.
Lawrence Wilson is now listed as the starting middle linebacker with Greg Lloyd as his backup while Big East Defensive Player of the Week Sio Moore is the starting weakside linebacker. Those moves actually happened before the game on Saturday but now the depth chart has been updated to reflect it.
And finally Gary Wilburn moves into the backup cornerback position behind Dwayne Gratz with Gilbert Stlouis falling off the depth chart completely.
It’s very interesting to see Frazer off the depth chart. I do wonder if Edsall will address this at all during his weekly pre-game press conference with the media on Tuesday.
