The Big Lead previews the Colts and they don’t necessarily like what they see.
Early murmurs out of Terre Haute from fans, bloggers and reporters were that this might be the deepest, most talented Colts team of the Manning era. And then, this week hit. Let’s just say the endless optimism has been put on temporary hiatus.
That’s pretty accurate. They nail the Ugoh thing exactly.
The Bob Sanders thing is wrong:
This is tough for a huge Sanders proponent to write, but if he doesn’t play in at least 12 games this season, the Colts should cut him and use the cap space to resign their other Pro Bowl safety, Antoine Bethea, and corner Marlin Jackson.
The problem is that Sanders only counts about $4 million against the cap next year (if there even is one). Cutting the Zombie won’t help anything.
All in all it’s a very accurate write up. Tip to BBS.
