Mark McGuire saw the light and finally admitted to taking PEDs:
“I wish I had never touched steroids. It was foolish and it was a mistake. I truly apologize. Looking back, I wish I had never played during the steroid era.”
The American public is very forgiving and usually gives people a second change if they ask for it honestly. If we have learned anything through the steroid era it is that players that admit to using PEDs can be welcomed back into the game without taking a major hit. McGuire’s revalation may open up his chances to someday be in the Hall of Fame. At the very least he will no longer be a PR distraction to the Cardinals who brought him on as a hitting coach for next season.
